La Asparagus

PAINTER. ALUSHTA. CRIMEA.

My name is Anastasia alias La Asparagus, I’m 21 years old and I was born in a small town Alushta in Crimea. As Gabriel Garcías Marquez once said “What matters in life is not what happens to you but what you remember and how you remember it.” This quote really resonates with me and I continue on investigating people, retrospecting their history and understanding motives. Moreover, studying on a law faculty also insured my views and opinions about life and system in which people are involved in.

I was fortunate enough to be born in a family of true art lovers. When I was a child my parents even opened a tiny art gallery to support local artists. However, they’ve never really been up with an idea of me pursuing the art seriously. That’s how I entered a law university. Despite that I didn’t stop exploring and learning about art. And when quarantine struck I had an opportunity to dive into it.

I get highly inspired by the people who surround me. Communication is the key to all the doors in this world. And for me it’s the greatest mystery ever to make an attempt to comprehend someone’s actions. And later on I do my best to convey the fusion of their experience and my feelings onto the paper. I beg it’s one of the most chilling adventures!

My studio is one of the most precious and personal spaces I’ve ever had in my life. And at the same time I’m always happy to invite people there and share a piece of my soul with them. In fact, although it’s a small room in my flat located close to Moscow city, I truly love it.

As funny as it sounds art is a way to find answers to all the worrying question and share them with others, who seek for authenticity and naturalness of things around.
